Sooner or later, the "wolves in sheep's clothing" get smoked out.

If we keep the pressure on politicians, we can pin them down on where they stand on the Life at Conception Act and real protections for the unborn.

A good example of the results of pro-life activism is Heath Shuler, a congressman from North Carolina, who announced he is not running for re-election.

And with good reason!

As a politician in a strong pro-life district, Shuler joined Bart Stupak's coalition in voting for pro-life amendments to Nancy Pelosi's version of ObamaCare.

But in the end, Pelosi pressured Democrats to ram through a version of ObamaCare with billions in taxpayer dollars for abortion.

At that point, Bart Stupak and most "blue dog" Democrats caved.

But word got out that Nancy Pelosi allowed Heath Shuler to vote against passage of ObamaCare to help his re-election chances.

Thanks to Pelosi, Heath Shuler survived re-election.

But since then, Shuler has shown his true colors.

When the pro-life majority in the House of Representatives voted to repeal ObamaCare, along with all taxpayer funding of abortion provisions, Shuler cast his vote with Pelosi and the abortion lobby.

When forced to choose between loyalty to the radical abortion lobby and loyalty to the people of his district, Shuler chose Pelosi.

Now the good news is, just like Bart Stupak, Heath Shuler decided to resign rather than answer to the voters this coming November.

Good bye and good riddance.

GEORGE SOROS WANTS TO CONTROL THE COURTS THROUGH RETENTION ELECTIONS. Just one more reason we need to stop HF1666 SF1465, the Quie Amendment, Missouri Plan and anything similar from being enacted in Minnesota. We already have Dayton and Richie…..do we needed an “all appointed judiciary” as well?

Billionaire George Soros spends tens of millions each year supporting a range of liberal social and political causes, from drug legalization to immigration reform to gay marriage to abolishing the death penalty.

But a less well-known Soros priority -- replacing elections for judges with selection-by-committee -- now has critics accusing him of trying to stack the courts.

Most non-federal judges around the country are selected by voters in elections. But some states use a process called “merit selection” in which a committee – often made up of lawyers – appoints judges to the bench instead.

Soros has spent several million dollars in the past decade in an attempt to get more states to scrap elections and adopt the merit method. Supporters say it would allow judges to focus on interpreting the law rather than on raising campaign funds and winning elections.

“Merit selection would end the money race and get judges out of the fundraising business,” Lynn Marks, executive director of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts -- a group that has received money from Soros’ Open Society Institute -- told FoxNews.com.

But critics say that if judges are picked by committee -- often, a committee of lawyers -- that will give left-wing judges the upper hand.

“The left can’t get their agenda through the legislatures anymore … so they think they can get their agenda through by taking over the courts,” attorney Colleen Pero, author of a new report titled "Hijacking Justice," told FoxNews.com.

Pero’s report found that Soros, through his Open Society Institute fund, has given $45 million over the last decade to “a campaign to reshape the judiciary.” But that number is hotly contested by Justice at Stake, the group that got the most Soros money.

“It’s a horrendously bogus distortion of numbers,” Charlie Hall, a spokesman for Justice at Stake, told FoxNews.com. Hall said the $45 million figure included groups that dealt with legal issues but had no position on merit selection. He added that he could only identify $2 million from Soros that went to groups that actively support replacing elections with “merit selection.”

In an analysis of the Open Society Institute's tax returns from the last ten years, FoxNews.com found more than $5 million was explicitly earmarked for projects about either "merit selection" or "judicial selection."

For example, OSI reported giving $90,000 to Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts in 2007 to "expand and grow a coalition in support of merit selection." It also reported giving $50,000 to Justice at Stake in 2006 to support "public education regarding merit selection."

OSI gave another $7 million-plus to Justice at Stake, or to partner organizations with specific directions to support JAS's activities.

Some recipients of Soros' money were eager to defend “merit selection,” and said they only wished Soros would give more money to the cause. "We are very grateful for their support of our efforts," Marks said. Her group received more than $500,000 over the last decade, but has not received money from OSI since 2008.

Elections, she added, discourage competent lawyers from becoming judges just because they aren’t good politicians. “They don't put their name in for nominations because they think they don't have the political connections or access to dollars.”

And judges, she said, should be kept apart from political forces. “Judges should resolve disputes based on evidence -- they're not supposed to be responsive to public pressure.”

But Pero pointed to a study by prominent law professors that found elected judges were, if anything, more independent and took on larger workloads than judges appointed by committee.

"We began this project with the assumption that the data would demonstrate that appointed judges are better than elected judges," the authors note, adding that after looking at their result: "It may be that elected judges are, indeed, superior to appointed judges."

And, Pero says, “merit selection” is inherently undemocratic.

"It would be a handful lawyers who would select judges… with elections, the people actually have a say."

Marks said it is wrong to call the merit selection un-democratic.

"Merit selection requires a change in the Constitution, so a bill must... go before the public. So when people say, ‘oh, you're changing the way we vote’ -- yes, but only if the people want to change the way we vote."

Sometimes when I hear about the latest travesty visited upon America by the radical Homosexual Lobby, I just stand there in shock and disgust.

You see, Californian school children are reaping the consequences of their state’s over-sexualization of younger schoolrooms.

Even kindergarten.

A six year old boy was charged by his school with "sexually assaulting" another boy -- what actually happened?

A friendly game of tag.

But since the radical homosexuals have convinced the State of California to treat 5 and 6 year olds as if they were sexually active, the innocent boy was treated like a sexual predator.

Like the worst sort of criminal.

He was interrogated for hours -- without his parents -- until he confessed to this “crime.”

Then the school filed sexual battery charges!

My friend, I simply do not have words for the horror I feel at this story...

This is exactly why Public Advocate is fighting tooth and nail to restore America’s classrooms to a state of decency and morality.

As long as they are allowed to pump sexually perverted education into our schools, the school administrators and teachers will continue to treat these young children as if they were sexually active.

I'm afraid this is just the tip of the iceberg for California...

But in my heart I know it is not too late!

Demand Employment Freedom for all Minnesota Workers

This week state lawmakers introduced the Employee Freedom Constitutional Amendment. This bill would allow voters to decide whether Minnesota should become an employee freedom state.

Employee freedom laws guarantee that workers cannot be forced to join a union or pay union dues. There are 22 other states that have already adopted similar measures and several others are currently considering this legislation.

Why is this necessary? Because workers should have the freedom to decide for themselves whether they want to join a union. Minnesotans have seen the recent example of Governor Dayton trying to unionize independent childcare providers. An employee freedom law would ensure that no individual would be forced to join a union against their will.

A report issued last week by the Center for the American Experiment highlights the benefits of this legislation in terms of jobs and employee compensation.

TAKE ACTION: Contact your state lawmakers and ask them to support the Employee Freedom Amendment bill.

They and their attorney and judicial friends want to break your heart and want a sweet deal for their own special interests, attorneys and sitting judges. They want all judges to be selected by fewer than 100 committee appointees, committees consisting of attorneys and special interest groups. These individuals support retention elections currently listed as HF1666 in the Minnesota House and SF1465 in the Minnesota Senate

They want to take away your right to vote on judges. They want all judges appointed. They want to be the ones to make all selections of who should be our judges. They want to take away local control from the local voter in the name of “non-partisan appointments” to the judiciary. They do not want to have ANY JUDGE STAND FOR ELECTION or to share their beliefs with the Minnesota electorate. They believe that the Minnesota electorate is ignorant and incapable of making any decision regarding who their judges should be.

Here's a response in a letter from PATTY MYERS in Montana ... I think she is a little ticked off! She also tells it like it is!

1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY YEARS.

2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15 years old. I am now 63).

3 My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme that would have made Bernie Madoff proud.

brought down Wall Street.

Franklin Raines was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae.
Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when
auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae's accounting
activities. Raines left with a "golden parachute valued at $240 Million in
benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the
accounting scandal became clear.

Tim Howard - was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard "was a
strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that would ensure
a "stable pattern of earnings" at Fannie. Investigations by federal
regulators and the company's board of directors since concluded that
management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and
Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard's Golden Parachute was
estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson - A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later
forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Investigators found that
Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson's 1998 compensation
from the public, reporting that it was between $6 million and $7 million
when it fact it was $21 million." Johnson is currently under investigation
for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie
Mae.

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year...
The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.
I decided we would have an election for a class president.
We would choose our nominees.. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.
We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.
We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids.
I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support.
I had never seen Olivia's mother.
The day arrived when they were to make their speeches.
Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better Place.
He ended by promising to do his very best.
Everyone applauded and he sat down.
Now is was Olivia's turn to speak.
Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down.
The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream."
She surely would say more. She did not have to.
A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. But no one pursued that question. They took her at her word.
Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it... She didn't know.
The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream...
Jamie was forgotten.. Olivia won by a landslide.
Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and 51.4 % of the people reacted like nine year-olds.
They want ice cream.
The other 48.6% percent know they're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess."

This is the ice cream Obama promised us!

Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone that they have not first taken away from someone else.

First, we survived being born to mothers

Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints.

We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles,
Locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode

As infants & children,
We would ride in cars with no car seats,
No booster seats, no seat belts, no air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes.

Riding in the back of a pick-up truck on a warm day
Was always a special treat.

We drank water
>From the garden hose and not from a bottle.

We shared one soft drink with four friends,
>From one bottle and no one actually died from this.

We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon..
We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar.
And, we weren't overweight.

We would leave home in the morning and play all day,

No one was able

And we went outside and found them!

We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth
And there were no lawsuits from these accidents.

We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt,
And the worms did not live in us
Forever.

We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
Made up games with sticks and tennis balls and,
Although we were told it would happen,
We did not put out very many eyes.

We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and
Knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just
Walked in and talked to them.

Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.
Those who didn't had to learn to deal
With disappointment.
Imagine that!!

The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law

They actually sided with the law!

Your Emails and Calls are Needed on Monday to Stop Indefinite Military Detention in the Conference Committee

Last week we were part of an epic struggle led by Senator Rand Paul (RLC-KY) to block the inclusion of language in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which would make it legal for US Military forces to operate inside the US in violation of Posse Comitatus and arrest US civilians and hold them in military detention without charges for an indefinite period of time in violation of the right of Habeas Corpus, a fundamental legal protection under the Bill of Rights. Granting these extraordinary powers to the military is obviously unconstitutional and is opposed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other law enforcement agencies.
Efforts to remove indefinite military detention from the NDAA were blocked by establishment leaders from both parties in the Senate, though Senator Paul did lead a last minute effort to successfully defeat an unexpected additional amendment which would have given the government even more extensive powers to arrest and hold citizens without charges.
The original problem sections (1031 and 1032) are still in the bill and contrary to the claims of supporters of the bill, the wording of section 1032 does not, in fact, provide protection for US citizens. The use of the phrase "not required" instead of "prohibited" leaves the decision to allow the military to detain citizens entirely in the hands of federal authorities.
The only remaining opportunity to have these sections removed from the bill will be during the coming week in the reconcilliation process where members of both houses in a conference committee negotiate a final version of the bill. During this process all members of Congress can make recommendations for changes or adjustments in the language and if there is enough outcry it's possible that the joint committee will do the right thing. Reconcilliation will be wrapping up in the next few days so a final push on this issue on Monday the 12th is absolutely essential.
This will be our last chance to fix the bill and protect our liberties short of hoping for an increasingly unlikely veto from President Obama. Union militants threaten Wisconsin teacher

                     Union militants are threatening and harassing the courageous charter school
teacher who is leading the fight to defend Wisconsin's new government-sector Right to Work law.
                     
                  
  With free legal aid from National Right to Work Foundation attorneys, Kristi Lacroix and two other civil servants filed an amicus brief and
a motion to intervene against union lawyers' spurious lawsuit seeking to overturn Wisconsin's monopoly bargaining reforms.
                    

                     WISN-TV in Milwaukee reported that "she has been blistered by negative and vicious emails and phone messages at
school and on Facebook, including one suggesting she get protection."
                     
                     Some militants
have even launched a "Fire Kristi" campaign.
                     
                     As you know, Wisconsin union bosses tried
every tactic imaginable to protect Big Labor's monopoly bargaining power over Wisconsin government employees.
                     
        
            They shut down schools, bused in out-of-state agitators, and
 demanded their allies in the state legislature flee to Illinois to 
delay a
vote.
                     
                     Then the union bosses wasted millions of dollars -- of their own members' forced dues -- on
a failed recall campaign to install a pro-forced unionism majority in the Wisconsin Senate.
                     
                    
Now, union hotheads are bombarding the Kenosha, Wisconsin, teacher with threats because she refuses to toe the union-boss line.
          
          
                     The onslaught of harassment and threats picked up after Lacroix exercised her First Amendment rights and appeared
in a TV commercial supporting Governor Scott Walker, who signed the reforms into law.
                     
                     Other
disgraceful messages have threatened Lacroix's career.  "Your best bet is to start a job search soon," one militant wrote.
            
        
                     Foundation attorneys are prepared to take all appropriate legal actions to defend Lacroix, and if necessary,
provide for the security of her and her family.
                     
                     
In 2005, the National Right to Work
Foundation hired 24-hour security for a North Carolina worker who 
received detailed threats after he successfully challenged a sweetheart 
deal between
his employer and the United Autoworkers (UAW) union.
                     
                     Union goons routinely employ violence and
terror tactics against innocent workers who dare to speak their own minds.

expose this thuggery and keep up the legal pressure against the abuses 
of coercive union power -- including ugly union violence and

One is from Chicago, another is from Tennessee, and the third is from Montana . All three go with a White House official to examine the fence.

The Montana contractor takes out a tape measure and does some measuring, then works some figures with a pencil. "Well," he says, "I figure the job will run about $900. That's $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me."

The Tennessee contractor also does some measuring and figuring, then says, "I can do this job for $700. That's $300 for materials, $300 for my

crew and $100 profit for me."

The Chicago contractor doesn't measure or figure, but leans over to the White House official and whispers, "$2,700." The official, incredulous, says, "You didn't even measure like the other guys. How did you come up with such a high figure?"

The Chicago contractor whispers back, "$1000 for me, $1000 for you, and we hire the guy from Tennessee to fix the fence."

"Done!" replies the government official.

General Electric is planning to move its 115-year-old X-ray division from Waukesha , Wis. , to Beijing . In addition to moving the headquarters, the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. This is the same GE that made $5.1 billion in the United States last year. but paid no taxes -the same company that employs more people overseas than it does in the united States .

So let me get this straight. President Obama appointed GE Chairman Jeff Immelt to head his commission on job creation (job czar). Immelt is supposed to help create jobs. I guess the President forgot to tell him in which country he was supposed to be creating those jobs. If this doesn't show you the total lack of leadership of this President, I don't know what does. Please pass this information to others and think about it before you buy a GE product.

This week, my staff discovered that Newt Gingrich believes gun owners should be forced to submit themselves to thumbprint scans of a biometric federal gun owner database... just to buy a firearm:

"I think we prefer to go to instant check on an immediate basis and try to accelerate implementing instant checks so that you could literally check by thumbprint... Instant check is a much better system than the Brady process." -- June 27, 1997

I don't want Eric Holder's Justice Department to have a list of gun owners complete with biometric data like thumbprints, and I'm sure you don't either.

I know I don’t have to tell you, but politicians often say one thing but do the complete opposite -- especially if they think no one is looking.

Newt Gingrich is the poster child for these sort of “flexible” principles.

I’ve been around the block a few times (I’m about to start my 20th year as a gun rights lobbyist) and dealt with literally thousands of candidates and politicians, but no Republican politician has managed to support and vote for anti-gun legislation and still proclaim that he is “pro-gun” more effectively than Newt Gingrich.

Don’t be fooled by his rise in the polls; Newt Gingrich has a long history of supporting gun control ...

... and he has blatantly refused to return his National Association for Gun Rights Presidential Survey.

With more than three decades as a public figure, Newt is the quintessential political chameleon, shifting his views to reflect whatever is popular with the Washington, D.C. chattering class.

Make no mistake, while Newt may talk a solid conservative game, his record is that of a typical Inside-the-Beltway politician who will cut ANY compromise or make ANY deal with anyone for his own political or personal gain.

While Newt used the institutional gun lobby as a mouthpiece to convince millions of gun owners nationwide that “as long as he is Speaker, no gun-control legislation is going to move in committee or on the House floor,” he was working behind the scenes to pass gun control.

In 1996, Newt Gingrich turned his back on gun owners and voted for the anti-gun Brady Campaign’s Lautenberg Gun Ban, which strips the Second Amendment rights of citizens involved in misdemeanor domestic violence charges or temporary protection orders –- in some cases for actions as minor as spanking a child or grabbing a spouse’s wrist.(1)

Gingrich even called the anti-gun measure “reasonable,” and predicted that it would sail through his Republican-controlled House of Representatives with little trouble.(2)

The Lautenberg Gun Ban is one of the Congressional Republicans' worst betrayals of gun owners, and those complicit in its passage deserve nothing but contempt from gun owners.

This gun control measure ranks right up there with the Brady Registration Act as the most aggressive gun control in America, denying hundreds of thousands of would-be gun owners the right to self defense.

Gingrich also stood shoulder to shoulder with Nancy Pelosi to pass the “Criminal Safezones Act” which prevents armed citizens from defending themselves in certain arbitrary locations. You and I both know that Criminal Safezones don’t protect law-abiding citizens, but actually protect the criminals who ignore them.(3)

As you can see, Newt Gingrich is no friend of gun owners, or small government conservatives. I know I needed this reminder, since Sears isn't always my first choice.

It's amazing when you think of how long the war has lasted and Sears hasn't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one thing at Sears this year?

How does Sears treat its employees who are serving in our military?

By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but

nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits

as a result of being in active duty.

Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining

all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all

employees who are serving.

I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest we all shop at Sears at

least once.

Be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the

company gets the positive reinforcement & feedback it well deserves.

Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.
  They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are powerful, penetrating, and deeply personal. There is no doubt that God sent this man as a voice crying in the wilderness.. The following is a portion of the transcript:
Since the dawn of creation there has been both good & evil in the hearts of men and women. We all contain the seeds of kindness or the seeds of violence. The death of my wonderful daughter, Rachel Joy Scott, and the deaths of that heroic teacher, and the other eleven children who died must not be in vain. Their blood cries out for answers.
  The first recorded act of violence was when Cain slew his brother Abel out in the field. The villain was not the club he used.. Neither was it the NCA, the National Club Association. The true killer was Cain, and the reason for the murder could only be found in Cain's heart.
In the days that followed the Columbine tragedy, I was amazed at how quickly fingers began to be pointed at groups such as the NRA. I am not a member of the NRA. I am not a hunter. I do not even own a gun. I am not here to represent or defend the NRA - because I don't believe that they are responsible for my daughter's death. Therefore I do not believe that they need to be defended. If I believed they had anything to do with Rachel's murder I would be their strongest opponent.
  I am here today to declare that Columbine was not just a tragedy -- it was a spiritual event that should be forcing us to look at where the real blame lies! Much of the blame lies here in this room. Much of the blame lies behind the pointing fingers of the accusers themselves. I wrote a poem just four nights ago that expresses my feelings best.

Your laws ignore our deepest needs,  Your words are empty air.  You've stripped away our heritage,  You've outlawed simple prayer.  Now gunshots fill our classrooms,  And precious children die.  You seek for answers everywhere,  And ask the question "Why?"  You regulate restrictive laws,  Through legislative creed.  And yet you fail to understand,  That God is what we need!

  Men and women are three-part beings. We all consist of body, mind, and spirit. When we refuse to acknowledge a third part of our make-up, we create a void that allows evil, prejudice, and hatred to rush in and wreak havoc. Spiritual presences were present within our educational systems for most of our nation's history. Many of our major colleges began as theological seminaries. This is a historical fact. What has happened to us as a nation? We have refused to honor God, and in so doing, we open the doors to hatred and violence. And when something as terrible as Columbine's tragedy occurs -- politicians immediately look for a scapegoat such as the NRA. They immediately seek to pass more restrictive laws that contribute to erode away our personal and private liberties. We do not need more restrictive laws. Eric and Dylan would not have been stopped by metal detectors. No amount of gun laws can stop someone who spends months planning this type of massacre. The real villain lies within our own hearts.
As my son Craig lay under that table in the school library and saw his two friends murdered before his very eyes, he did not hesitate to pray in school. I defy any law or politician to deny him that right! I challenge every young person in America , and around the world, to realize that on April 20, 1999, at Columbine High School prayer was brought back to our schools. Do not let the many prayers offered by those students be in vain. Dare to move into the new millennium with a sacred disregard for legislation that violates your God-given right to communicate with Him. To those of you who would point your finger at the NRA -- I give to you a sincere challenge.. Dare to examine your own

heart before casting the first stone! My daughter's death will not be in vain! The young people of this country will not

allow that to happen!"

Two Black Americans were elected to congress this cycle, and both are Republican.   Col. West is from southern Florida .   He won in a walk.

This new Congressman was an extremely popular commander in Iraq . He was forced to retire because during an intense combat action a few of his men were captured.   At the same time his men captured one of the guys who were with the Iraqis who captured his men.

Knowing that time was crucial and his interrogators were not getting anywhere with the prisoner, Col. West took matters into his own hands. He burst into the room and demanded thru an interpreter that the prisoner tell him where his men were being taken. The prisoner refused so Col. West took out his pistol and placed it into the prisoner's crotch and fired.   Then the Col. told the prisoner that the next shot would not miss. So the prisoner said he would show where the American service members were being taken. The Americans were rescued. Someone filed a report on incorrect handling of prisoners. Col. West was forced to retire. Col. West was just elected in November 2010 to Congress from Florida .   During the elections he was part of a panel on how to handle or how to relate to Muslims. The Wedding - get your tissues out

An unbelievable story of unselfishness and courage under the most

impossible situation with an inevitable outcome.

How's this story for a reminder that "We don't

know we're alive".

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to

her is her fiancé, Nick, 23. This picture was taken

prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005. Katie

has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy. Here Nick awaits while she

finishes one of the sessions... Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care

of every single part of the wedding planning. Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie 's constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie

had to use it during the ceremony and reception.

The other couple in this picture is Nick's parents,

very emotional with the wedding and to see their

son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was

an adolescent. Katie, in a wheel chair listening to her husband

and friends singing to her. In the middle of the party, Katie had to rest for a

bit and catch her breath. The pain does not allow

her to stand for long period of time. Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a

fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful

smile makes you think... Happiness is always

there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.

Let's enjoy life and don't live a complicated life.

Life is too short.
Work as if it was your first day. Forgive as soon

as possible.
Love without boundaries. Laugh without control

and never stop smiling Please pray for those

suffering from cancer.

Sent to me by the G-man. I am sure this has been floating around the web for a while. Don't know if it is for real, as far as someone actually putting this on their return, but it is true none the less.

I thought it was at least a partially correct answer...although, I may have underestimated on all - but the last one.

The IRS sent my Tax Return back AGAIN, because of my response to the question: "List all dependents?"

I replied:

"12 million illegal immigrants;
"3 million crack heads;
"42 million unemployable people on food stamps,
"2 million criminals in over 243 prisons;
"Half of Mexico ; and
"535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate.”

Apparently this was not an acceptable answer.

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!

Remember that day...
January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy?
BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!
THANK YOU DEMOCRATS (especially Barney Frank) for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment...to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

(BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie -starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy). Barney Frank blocked it and called it a "Chicken Little Philosophy" (and the sky did fall!)

Bush may have been in the car but the Democrats were in charge of the gas pedal and steering wheel they were driving the economy into the ditch.
Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democratic Party.
Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 & 2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budget.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period:
If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.
In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is "I inherited a deficit that I voted for,
And then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th."
There is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!

Uninsured Cars Off The Road

Recently, the City of Dallas , Texas , passed an ordinance stating that if
a driver is pulled over by law enforcement and is not able to provide
proof of insurance, the car is towed.

To retrieve the car after being impounded, they must show proof of
insurance to have the car released. This has made it easy for the City of
Dallas to remove uninsured cars.

Shortly after the "No Insurance" ordinance was passed, the Dallas impound
lots began to fill up and were full after only nine days.
80 + % of the impounded cars were driven by illegals.

Not only must they provide proof of insurance to have their car released,
they have to pay for the cost of the tow, a $350 fine, and $20 for every
day their car is kept in the lot.

Accident rates have gone down   47%and... Dallas ' solution gets uninsured
drivers off the road WITHOUT making them show proof of   nationality.

Wonder how the ACLU or the Justice Department will get around this one.

Just brings tears to my eyes.

The pickle jar as far back as I can remember sat on the floor beside the dresser in my parents' bedroom.
When he got ready for bed, Dad would empty his pockets and toss his coins into the jar.
As a small boy, I was always fascinated at the sounds the coins made as they were dropped into the jar.

They landed with a merry jingle when the jar was almost empty. Then the tones gradually muted to a dull thud as the jar was filled.

I used to squat on the floor in front of the jar to admire the copper and silver circles that glinted like a pirate's
treasure when the sun poured through the bedroom window. When the jar was filled, Dad would sit at the kitchen table and roll the coins before taking them to the bank.

Taking the coins to the bank was always a big production. Stacked neatly in a small cardboard box, the coins were placed between Dad and me on the seat of his old truck.

Each and every time, as we drove to the bank, Dad would look at me hopefully. 'Those coins are going to keep you out of the textile mill, son. You're going to do better than me. This old mill town's not going to hold you back.'

Also, each and every time, as he slid the box of rolled coins across the counter at the bank toward the cashier,
he would grin proudly. 'These are for my son's college fund. He'll never work at the mill all his life like me.'

We would always celebrate each deposit by stopping for an ice cream cone. I always got chocolate. Dad always got vanilla. When the clerk at the ice cream parlor handed Dad his change, he would show me the few coins nestled in his palm. 'When we get home, we'll start filling the jar again.' He always let me drop the first coins into the empty jar. As they rattled around with a brief, happy jingle, we grinned at each other. 'You'll get to college on pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters,' he said. 'But you'll get there; I'll see to that.'No matter how rough things got at home, Dad continued to doggedly drop his coins into the jar. Even the summer when Dad got laid off from the mill,and Mama had to serve dried beans several times a week, not a single dime was taken from the jar.

To the contrary, as Dad looked across the table at me, pouring catsup over my beans to make them more palatable, he became more determined than ever to make a way out for me 'When you finish college, Son,' he told me, his eyes glistening, 'You'll never have to eat beans again - unless you want to.'

The years passed, and I finished college and took a job in another town. Once, while visiting my parents, I used the phone in their bedroom, and noticed that the pickle jar was gone. It had served its purpose and had been removed.

A lump rose in my throat as I stared at the spot beside the dresser where the jar had always stood. My dad
was a man of few words: he never lectured me on the values of determination, perseverance, and faith. The
pickle jar had taught me all these virtues far more eloquently than the most flowery of words could have
done. When I married, I told my wife Susan about the significant part the lowly pickle jar had played in my
life as a boy. In my mind, it defined, more than anything else, how much my dad had loved me.

The first Christmas after our daughter Jessica was born, we spent the holiday with my parents. After dinner, Mom and Dad sat next to each other on the sofa, taking turns cuddling their first grandchild. Jessica began to whimper softly, and Susan took her from Dad's arms. 'She probably needs to be changed,' she said, carrying the baby into my parents' bedroom to diaper her. When Susan came back into the living room, there was a strange mist in her eyes.

She handed Jessica back to Dad before taking my hand and leading me into the room. 'Look,' she said softly, her eyes directing me to a spot on the floor beside the dresser. To my amazement, there, as if it had never been removed, stood the old pickle jar, the bottom already covered with coins. I walked over to the pickle jar, dug down into my pocket, and pulled out a fistful of coins. With a gamut of
emotions choking me, I dropped the coins into the jar. I looked up and saw that Dad, carrying Jessica, had slipped quietly into the room. Our eyes locked, and I knew he was feeling the same emotions I felt. Neither one of us could speak.

This truly touched my heart. Sometimes we are so busy adding up our troubles that we forget to count our blessings. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life, for better or for worse.

God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way. Look for GOOD in others. - Happy moments, praise God.
- Difficult moments, seek God.
- Quiet moments, worship God.
- Painful moments, trust God.
- Every moment, thank God.

Hate Crime?

This past Monday, I received a disturbing call from Phil Eddy, our Northeast Regional Coordinator, telling me that he had just heard from Sara, Founder of the University of Buffalo (UB) Students for Life group and SFLA Wilberforce Fellow, who said:

that the Cemetery of Innocents display that the Students for Life group put up Sunday evening, memorializing the innocent lives lost to abortion, was completely torn up by four unknown vandals!

Sara then told Phil that a blurry campus surveillance video showed four individuals methodically ripping up each and every cross and sign making up the display, and disposing of them in trash bags.

Last night, Phil and I had an emergency call with Sara, and Phil posted notes from our call on his blog:

"After the events of Monday, members of the UB Students for Life kept a watchful eye on the display throughout the day on Tuesday, and, at one point, they witnessed a small group of angry women forming around the display. Two began to rip up the crosses, and someone described as 'older, at least 40 years old, and possibly a faculty member' reportedly yelled 'Hey ladies, let's start a riot.' This incited six more people to begin tearing up crosses, and they continued until campus police arrived.

In total eight people were caught vandalizing the display Monday and Tuesday and at least one of them is facing criminal charges - the arresting officer insinuating that they might be charged with a Hate Crime."

If so, this would be the first time - that we're aware of - in which individuals would be charged with committing a hate crime for vandalizing a pro-life display.

Sadly, this is not the first time students at the University of Buffalo - or other pro-life students from across the country - have been targeted with violence for their beliefs. You may recall that back in May, I wrote to you about the vandalism that the UB Students for Life group endured during their first event on campus. Truly, this group is making an impact on their campus.

I am so proud of Sara and the UB Students for Life group for standing strong in the face of such overwhelming adversity. Phil is traveling up to Buffalo as soon as possible to be there to support them in case they face backlash, which we are expecting, from the school administration.
And we are also planning a follow-up event to show the the University of Buffalo that pro-life students are strong and will NOT let their beliefs be swayed by a group of cowards.

Today, call the University of Buffalo and tell them that you support UB Students for Life and their right to be on campus. Let them know that these acts of vandalism are wrong, and they need to do something to protect the free speech of pro-lifers on campus! No matter what, we will continue to fight and to provide support to you as you fight for the most defenseless among us.

I know we will win in the end because the truth is on our side! Thank you for everything you do for the preborn and their mothers.
